What we collect
- Artist name.
- Email address.
- Social handle.
- Genre.
- Track title and track link.
- Review start timestamp (where you want us to drop in).
- Optional note to the hosts.
- Whether the track is AI-assisted.
- Whether you opted in to marketing email.
Payments
PayPal account and payment details are handled entirely by PayPal. Those details never touch this site's servers — we only store the result of a payment (paid, refunded, credited) and its payment reference.
How we use your email
We always use it for receipts, queue updates, written feedback delivery, and account login codes. Promotional email only goes out if you opted in, and every promotional send has an unsubscribe link.
What's shown publicly
Your artist name, track title, score, and host notes appear on the archive, the leaderboard, artist profiles, and Song of the Week. Email addresses are never shown publicly.
Your account page
The /account page is protected by a one-time code emailed to you. Nobody can look up your credits, membership, or referral activity just by typing in your address.
Who else touches your data
- PayPal — submission payments and recurring memberships.
- Supabase — the database that stores the queue and your account records.
- Our transactional email provider — sends receipts, codes, and updates.
We do not sell or rent your data. Not to anyone, not ever.
Retention, deletion, and copies
Submission and review records are kept for as long as the public archive exists, since they're part of the show's history. Payment records are kept as long as we're required to for tax and accounting. To request deletion of your personal details, or a copy of everything we hold on you, email hello@soundjudgement.app from the address you submitted with. We'll handle it within 30 days.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what's needed for the site to work, plus a small stored key that keeps Song of the Week voting to one vote per person. No third-party ad tracking, no advertising pixels.
